wildfire burning in napa, we'll go to linda yee now in napa. hi, linda. >> reporter: hi there, roberta. you know, as you were saying, the dry air and wind is a problem up here. this brush fire started around noon when a controlled burn at a vineyard went out of control because of a gust of win. the fire is burning about 35 acres of brush in a canyon. it's not heavily populated but three homes were threatened at one time. firefighters decided to take a stand and surround these homes and try to protect them as the flames reached them. that did no happen but winds are making it tough. they clocked some of the wind gusts at 20 miles per hour at some points. it was a little higher at some points. but they are hoping by evening tonight when it dies down they can get a better handle on it. the area that's affected is the 3200 block of soda canyon road off the silverado trail. there are lots of vineyards up here. that's why it is not as populated. they are hoping though that no homes will be damaged and they will get this fire under containment tonight
